14 Years of Love

The lab lives on, now equipped with very realistic plastic models of actual science equipment.  Aunt Mindy just can't help herself.  She brings gifts every time she comes to see us (which is a lot!)(ps- so does Nana.  They both have such a knack for finding the best gifts!)

Ruby, Owen, and I went to Wheeler Farm and then on to "Daddy's hospital" for an ice cream.  Life is good. :)

So, the garden.  Again.  Potatoes this time.  SO much fun to harvest.  Seriously can't wait until next spring so I can plant three times as many potatoes.

Chip and I celebrated 14 years of marriage this September.  Yes, 14 YEARS!  Insane.  We got out for dinner and a drink in our home town and loved every second.  Lots to be grateful for.

Then, a few days later, headed out of town for a quick over nighter to the Uintas.  Ruby and Owen have been asking to take Kessler camping.  We promised them we would try her for one night.  (and likely never again...sorry kess!)  She did pretty well actually, thanks to the dispersed camping.  She was quite sore after joining us for Ruby and Owen's first mt bike ride around Mirror Lake, a little paddle boarding, and a few swims.  That is more action than she has had in the past five years!

Chip Look

Yoga on a rock.

Love these two...

And these four!

On day two we paddle boarded around Butterfly Lake, did a little fishing (didn't catch anything but got a few "bites"), and discovered wild raspberries on our hike around the lake...lots of them!!  Ruby and Owen declared this their "favorite day ever". :)  It was a good one.

Part of the "the best day ever" was that we drove the quick jaunt home, went to a birthday party, and then Mindy and Dax arrived!  They were stopping back through on their way to Steamboat.  We had time to go biking at Round Valley where Ruby did her first single track and we discovered a tire swing up on the trails.

Love this one.

Mindy and I got out for a ride too.  These two always get Chip and I out when they are here.  Thank goodness because with all the running and other things going on these days, we just don't bike much anymore.  It is going to be a great retirement activity. Ha!

Fall and Uncle Chris

We have been getting out on bikes as often as we can it seems to be paying off!  Ruby is totally confident on her pedal bike and Owen caught the bug and is too now.  Yehaw!  And, of course, baby has joined us on a ride or two.

Third Annual Progressive Village Party
1st stop, Renae's house, then....

a quick jaunt down Lower Evergreen (led by the little ladies)...

through Pam and Justin's yard to the Moose Moss.

One hike through the neighborhood on trail, up Parkview Circle to the Kirby's house for soup and bread, and then...

on to our house for pulled pork and fries.  There was a Whiskey drink theme this year so lots of fancy concoctions along the way too.

We finished up at Chuck and Rebecca's across the street for dessert, and voila! Trek complete!  We feel so fortunate to have this community.  They are really a special bunch. :)

Forgot to mention that Uncle Chris was in town this weekend too!  He got to join us for the Village Party and for a float down the Weber with Shawn, a raft and our paddle boards.

The Weber gave us the biggest rapids we have paddle boarded on so far.  It was a blast! Ruby practiced some paddling and both kids are loving riding on the front of a board.  These have been a really worthwhile purchase so far.

I Love Moo ice cream shop.

Nana and Papa come into town too for a night!  For not having any family that live close by any more, we sure do get to see a lot of family throughout the year.  Love it!

Have I mentioned how much I am loving my garden?!

Dear Garage Sale,
Thank you.  Now, I will know which hot surfer guy in the ocean, is mine. :)
