6th Birthday! Wow.

Whoa.  6.  How did this happen?  They have grown up SO much in the last year.  I mean, every year they have, of course.  But really this year they are so different...so aware..so thoughtful, and funny, and curious, and capable.  It is really a privilege to be their mom and to be part of their journey through life.  We have our moments, lots of them, but overall, I love the people Ruby and Owen are, and I love who they have brought me to be.  

Ruby and Owen agreed to not get gifts from their friends for their birthday and opt for something "bigger" from mom and dad.  We celebrated at Get Air, which was a gift in itself.  SO much fun with the kids and parents who attended, especially Aunt Mindy, who has not missed a birthday party for Ruby and Owen yet!  We even waiting until their actual day to celebrate so that she could be with us.  So worth it.

Ruby's new jammies from Aunt Amber are her favorite!!  She loves this tradition and looks forward to it each year.  Fun snowflakes this year!  Thanks, Amber!

Oh, and, tomorrow morning is
"Christmas" for us because Chip has to work a 24 on Christmas day.  So, quite a big one today, but, all ready.

December Dominates!

December was full of projects and activities.  Here are some of them!  Ruby and Owen made "LOVE" signs for all of our family and friends for Christmas this year.  They came out great...however I forgot to take a picture of the finished product.  Oh well, here is the process!

Zoo Lights has been a tradition for at least 5 years we determined.  Such a highlight of the season.  Here's why...

Ruby gave this cute dog to Kessler.  I think she thought she needed more toys.  Probably true.  Kessler was grateful.

Left the kids playing to take a shower and came back to this.  Should I be worried?

Yum, and yum.  We were busy!  party treats and birthday treats!  This was our first time MAKING the birthday cake.  I was nervous, but it turned out delicious and much prettier than I expected.
